How is a posture of generosity latent throughout all of our recent themes of Why Church, Nothing Wasted, and Fractal Faith? As she explores the generous acts of discipleship seen in often overlooked disciples, Dr. JoAnn will also share a personal testimony of why she wants to invest in Quest, in this moment.

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” As we continue our series “Nothing Wasted”, we turn to talk about the land and our relationship to violence. We will explore the story of Cain and Abel as a means of understanding how human moral failure and doubt in the goodness and enoughness of the creator creates the context for the desecration of all things. Chief Storyteller Brandi Miller will invite us to consider how deepening our resistance to violence in all of its forms will help us reconnect with the sacredness of all things.

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” Pastor Gail will briefly pause from our series on land/environment, and preach a message on money. What purpose does money serve? What lesson does Jesus share about money in the feeding of 5000? Are you nervous about this topic? Well, so is she. But our pastor also knows that our lives of discipleship, as followers of Jesus, cannot exclude how we steward and engage our money and resources, individually and collectively. In fact, it is one of the most referenced areas of discipleship and caution in the Bible, especially in Jesus’ teachings. If it’s important to Jesus, it should be important to us. Let’s do this together!

A message from the series “Why Church?.” Have you ever wondered why Jesus tells the disciples to divide the hungry crowd of 5000 men (approx.15,000 total) into groups of 50 before he multiplies the 5 loaves and 2 fish? Well, we’re continuing our series on WHY Church? and Pastor Gail is eager to bring a word on Quest’s Vision through the lens of permaculture and broccoli!

As we center our attention to the story of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Pastor Aaron will invite us to consider the many ways Jesus involves other people (and a donkey) to co-create this significant moment. Perhaps this story says something about the kind of people Jesus continues to co-create with, past, present and future. Join us as we enter Holy Week together.

Easter Sunday

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” Life with Jesus is inherently about connection and wholeness with the creator, with other people, and with the creation and land itself. As we launch our new series Nothing Wasted centered on our relationship with the earth, we will explore what happens when our relationship to the creation is broken and how connection with the community of creation is central to what it means to human, to be whole, and to be free.

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” This Sunday, Pastor Brenda will preach a sermon entitled, “Waiting to Exhale,” because as humans, living in a fast-paced society with demanding schedules, we are building up pressure and stress that must be released. For some people it may seem like a waste of time, but in truth, we experience the healing power of God by interacting with nature, which gives us space to breathe and time to renew our souls.
