A message from the series “Mysteries & Miracles.” What does a dead fig tree in a vineyard teach us about life with God? Join us this Sunday as we unpack another of Jesus’ parables and explore the possibilities for hope and new life when we are open to change and embrace mystery.
A message from the series “Mysteries & Miracles.” What makes the parables so intriguing and mysterious is how Jesus is always challenging his disciples and those in the crowds of their preconceived assumptions – about themselves, others and God. There always seems to be a twist, turn and reversal at the heart of Jesus’ parables that offers more than a simple truth or takeaway. Life isn’t always that simple nor is being a follower of Jesus. Join us as we look at a pharisee and a tax collector, and maybe ourselves somewhere in between.

Ideas of God moving in supernatural ways seem unlikely in a world where there is an explanation for everything. Or, maybe we are afraid of the silence when we reach out of God with a burden or sorrow. This week, Dr. Brian asks us to consider if miracles are closer to us than we thought, and what happens when we begin to open ourselves to the miraculous in our life and in the life of our community?

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” Join us for a Creative Arts-oriented service as we close out our sermon series “Nothing Wasted”. We will be exploring Genesis 1:27-31 and reflecting on how we can use our divine creativity to embody the abundance and liberation of our creative God. This will be a collective experience of worship, art, and community, where we can celebrate our identity as Image Bearers of our Creator God. Come and be inspired by the diverse ways in which we all reflect God’s creativity- individually and as a community of believers. We can’t wait to see you there!
A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” In honor of Juneteenth, we will have a special conversational sermon with Pastor Brenda, Elder Nourisha Wells, and Dr. Valerie Bemo. They will discuss the history and legacy of African American people’s intimate connection and harmony with the land. They will also share the truth about how racism and urbanization tried to erase some of this historical union between Black people and the earth. But nothing is wasted with God! So, they will call all people to reclaim our connection to land and liberation for our healing and the healing of generations coming after us.
