A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” Join us for a Creative Arts-oriented service as we close out our sermon series “Nothing Wasted”. We will be exploring Genesis 1:27-31 and reflecting on how we can use our divine creativity to embody the abundance and liberation of our creative God. This will be a collective experience of worship, art, and community, where we can celebrate our identity as Image Bearers of our Creator God. Come and be inspired by the diverse ways in which we all reflect God’s creativity- individually and as a community of believers. We can’t wait to see you there!

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” In honor of Juneteenth, we will have a special conversational sermon with Pastor Brenda, Elder Nourisha Wells, and Dr. Valerie Bemo. They will discuss the history and legacy of African American people’s intimate connection and harmony with the land. They will also share the truth about how racism and urbanization tried to erase some of this historical union between Black people and the earth. But nothing is wasted with God! So, they will call all people to reclaim our connection to land and liberation for our healing and the healing of generations coming after us.

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” This week, we’ll mark the 16 year anniversary of Interbay’s decision to “die to itself” in an act of radical generosity, leaving a multiplying legacy of its people, place, and the presence of God’s Spirit, which is still evidenced today. How is a posture of generosity latent throughout all of our recent themes of Why Church, Nothing Wasted, and Fractal Faith? As she explores the generous acts of discipleship seen in often overlooked disciples, Dr. JoAnn will also share a personal testimony of why she wants to invest in Quest, in this moment.

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” As we continue our series “Nothing Wasted”, we turn to talk about the land and our relationship to violence. We will explore the story of Cain and Abel as a means of understanding how human moral failure and doubt in the goodness and enoughness of the creator creates the context for the desecration of all things. Chief Storyteller Brandi Miller will invite us to consider how deepening our resistance to violence in all of its forms will help us reconnect with the sacredness of all things.

A message from the series “Nothing Wasted.” Pastor Gail will briefly pause from our series on land/environment, and preach a message on money. What purpose does money serve? What lesson does Jesus share about money in the feeding of 5000? Are you nervous about this topic? Well, so is she. But our pastor also knows that our lives of discipleship, as followers of Jesus, cannot exclude how we steward and engage our money and resources, individually and collectively. In fact, it is one of the most referenced areas of discipleship and caution in the Bible, especially in Jesus’ teachings. If it’s important to Jesus, it should be important to us. Let’s do this together!

Well, we’re continuing our series on WHY Church? and Pastor Gail is eager to bring a word on Quest’s Vision through the lens of permaculture and broccoli!
