Tanzania: Brian and Nicole Hickory

Questers Brian and Nicole Hickory are set to head for Tanzania this July to partner in setting up long term relationships with people in the village of Chamwino, and to explore God's call to mission on their own lives. Please read their support letter below, and prayerfully consider supporting them through prayer, encouragment, and financial giving.

Our Partnership with World Relief

You will probably be hearing more and more for me as we prepare to host refugee families this summer and fall. I encourage you to pray about how you can get involved with this vital ministry. This past week (on Saturday) Quest participated in the Refugee Project in the International District and then on Monday we had a representative come and teach on the ways in which we can volunteer to bring support to refugees who are moving in the area.
Linda in Kenya

In just under two days, Quester and 5pm service attender Linda Szeto will be heading to Kenya. She will be working in her official capacity as a speech and language pathologist, and checking in with folks she has been in contact with since her last trip to Kenya. Take a look at Linda's blog, and check back for updates here: http://www.neuroplastictravel.blogspot.com/
Here's Linda in her own words:
I couldn't fathom how spoiled we are. I couldn't take it. I cried that night.
Intro to Christian Theology

We pray to God the Father, Son, and Spirit, but believe in one God, how does that work? Jesus died and rose, but just how does that accomplish salvation? What do we do with the tensions and contradictions in Scripture? How do we affirm that God is good when we see and hear of so much evil in the world?
These are tough, big questions, but they're also good questions. They are good because they push us to love God with our minds. They connect us with the larger Christian community both now and in the past who have wrestled with the whats and whys of the Christian life. And these are questions for everyday life, because how we think and speak of God influences how we serve God. Here's the lineup of topics for our 3 week series:
The Refugee Project: Walk in my Shoes

It is that time! It is time to start thinking about how we can mobilize our resources to provide support, care and relationship to refugees who are relocating to the greater Seattle area. This is something we've been committed to for years and we feel deeply convicted to follow the call that God has placed on our hearts to be His hands, feet and face to men, women and children who are finding a new home in the states because of their need to flee their home due to persecution, oppression, torture and death.

SUMMER VISIONARIES MEETING
Community and Growth

As Quest continues to grow at a fast pace, one of our most pressing needs is to continue to invest in community groups as the life and backbone of our church community. From the beginning of Quest, we have always wanted to be a faith community that goes beyond Sundays- a church of small groups, not just a church with small groups.
One of the reasons we believe so strongly in the importance of community groups is that we recognize the reality of our busy and fragmented lives. So much in our culture pulls us away from community and if we're not careful, we can easily become spiritual consumers who show up on a Sunday, go through the motions for 90 minutes, and then return home unchanged.
